What makes The Good Canvas different?

We combine design strategy, architectural thinking, visual storytelling, and a supportive process. Your website becomes a place that communicates clearly and feels deeply aligned with who you are.

How do I start a project with you?

You can begin by filling out our inquiry form. From there, you’ll receive a personalized proposal and a guided onboarding experience that walks you through every step before we start design.

The Design Stage

What happens during the onboarding process?

We begin with a guided welcome call to introduce our step-by-step process, collect your brand vision, assets and content roadmap. You’ll receive a clear timeline, onboarding guide and access to your project workbook so you feel confident and prepared from day one.

How do we collaborate before the build begins?

During the “pre-build” phase you’ll complete guided worksheets, share your content, brand visuals and inspirations. We review your questionnaires together, clarify your site structure and messaging, and map out every page so when the design phase begins we’re fully aligned.

What happens during the design stage?

Once we move into design you’ll receive wireframes or a site map, followed by visual mock-ups. You’ll provide feedback, we refine, and when you’re happy we hand off to development. Throughout, we keep you informed with check-ins and ensure your voice remains central in the design.

Why is there a waiting period before the website build?

That “waiting” time is actually a supportive preparation window. Rather than diving immediately into code, we pause to get the content, brand visuals and structure fully ready. This means when we build your website everything flows smoothly, timelines stay realistic and surprises are avoided.

How many revisions are included during the design phase?

We include two rounds of design feedback periods so you can refine brand visuals and website mock-ups until you feel calm and confident. After these rounds we move into final polishing and development, so you’ve had your say and we keep the project on track.

What if I’m not ready with all my content?

If things aren’t quite ready we’ll pause at a natural milestone (for example after branding or wireframing) and reschedule the build start date. That way you don’t feel stressed or rushed and the website still launches beautifully when everything is aligned. At the discovery call we can also discuss the content you have or don’t have, and suggest what needs to be completed and schedule the design/build date accordingly to have you plenty of time.

How do we stay in touch during the project?

We communicate via email and your project dashboard (in HoneyBook), scheduled check-in calls, and email summaries. You’ll always know where we are, what’s next and how you can keep things moving forward. We keep track of everything and update you weekly during your build so that you can see progress and make comments!
