Why We Build on WordPress (And What That Has to Do With Your Business)

Why we build on WordPress… And why it’s our favourite platform
Your website is one of the most important investments you’ll make in your business. So the platform it’s built on actually matters.
We build almost all of our client websites on WordPress. Not because it’s the easiest option, or even the easiest to sell. Because it’s the right tool for what we want your website to do for you.
Here’s what we mean by that.
A website that works is one you actually own
A lot of platforms make it easy to get started. Drag and drop. Templates. A live site in an afternoon. And they’re stunning, to be fair.
What they don’t always make clear is that you’re renting space on their platform. If they raise prices, change features, or shut down, your site goes with it.
WordPress is different. It’s open-source software that you install on your own hosting. You own the files. You own the content. You own the data. No one can take that away from you.
For a business owner, that’s not a small thing.
Flexibility that actually follows your business
Most website builders work great until you need something they didn’t plan for.
WordPress is built to grow with you. Need a booking system? A shop? A client portal? A custom layout that doesn’t look like every other site in your industry? WordPress can do all of it, without forcing you into a workaround.
That flexibility is why we use it for branding clients who are just getting started and for established businesses that need something more complex. The platform doesn’t put a ceiling on what’s possible.
You’ll actually be able to use it
This is where a lot of people assume WordPress is more complicated than it needs to be. It doesn’t have to be.
We design and build in a visual editor, which means you can edit, add, and update your site the same way you would on Showit, Wix, or Squarespace. Click on what you want to change. Change it. Done.
We also walk you through everything before handing your site over. The goal isn’t just to give you a beautiful website. It’s to give you one you’ll actually feel confident updating on your own, and one you’ll want to.
SEO that you can actually control
Search engine optimization is a long game. But it starts with having a platform that gives you full control over the technical side of things.
With WordPress, we can control your page titles, meta descriptions, URL structure, site speed, image optimization, and schema markup. We use Yoast SEO to make sure nothing important gets left to chance.
A lot of other platforms lock some of this behind paywalls or don’t offer it at all. With WordPress, it’s all there.
Is it right for everyone?
Honestly, no.
WordPress has a bit of a learning curve. It requires hosting, occasional updates, and some ongoing attention. If you want something you can set up yourself in a weekend and never think about again, it might not be the best fit.
But if you’re building a business you’re serious about, and you want a website that can grow with you, hold up over time, and actually be found on Google and AI search? WordPress is worth it.
It’s what we use. It’s what we recommend. And it’s what we’ll keep building on because it works really well.
That said, we’re not exclusive.
If you come to us with a platform you’re already on and love, we’re happy to work with it. We build on Showit, Squarespace, and Wix too, and each one has genuine strengths depending on your situation. The most important thing is that your website works for your business. The platform is just the tool we use to get you there.
